What's wrong with a smart meter?

 

I'm trying to understand if EMFs (including WiFi) are really affecting my health (which is very, very bad and seemingly getting worse every day). However, I have spent thousands of dollars over the years and am now in medical care, so before I can borrow money to buy EMF protection devices (including WiFi) or grounding pads (?), I need to know more. Where are the double-blind studies mentioned in this article? If I could post a link to them, it might convince my family and friends to help.

 

Since they installed this smart meter, we chose to live in the basement because it was impossible to sleep or even live upstairs in the house. We painted the wall with special paint and bought special curtains to protect us, but it is very difficult to stay outside. I am worried about children, they are more sensitive, what about babies and birds? We even thought about moving... I'm sure the meters will cause a lot of health problems.

 

From December 2010 to April 2011, four "smart meters" were installed within 20 feet of our bed. Since then, we ONLY get headaches, ringing in the ears, palpitations and insomnia when we sleep in our bed in this house. We've had SDG&E several times and asked for "smart meters" to go back to analog. SDG&E officials say there is no alternative to "smart meters"! Also the main "smart meter" of our block is in front of our house, we move so little that we don't know what to do! Friends in Northern California tell us that PG&E offers an opt-out program for its customers. In addition, many local towns have opted not to have "smart meters" at all. Why can't SDG&E give us the same option in Southern California?

 

All our bodies are delicate, organic bioelectrical systems and are not designed for the constant bath of electrical frequencies that WiFi and smart meters emit. It's so toxic and needs to be dealt with so I can get out of the foil screen. There was nowhere to turn. Society had nothing to offer me in terms of help.

 

I recently tried to spend the night in an area that had smart meters in a house that was on the delay list and had none. After 8 hours I was so sick that I had to leave at 2:30 in the morning. If I had stayed 10 more hours, I would have vomited and had convulsions. The opt-out plan is not a viable solution to health problems. Smart meters should not be installed until health issues are addressed.

 

My body is very sensitive to electric fields and I demand that CA who is usually so environmentally conscious take responsibility for these meters and put an end to them. Make electric companies and their investors swallow the costs and not pass them on to their customers. We didn't ask for this false improvement. Carol Church, Placer County, California.

 

22 smart meters have been installed in our building. They are located directly below our apartment. On September 26, 2011, my husband had a tonic-clonic seizure while sleeping. All tests went well. But now he is on antiepileptic drugs. However, I noticed that at night, when he sleeps, his hands shake. Then, more slowly, I began to feel a tremor in my feet, which climbed to my legs and then developed into tremors. I've never had that feeling in my life. If I'm not at work during the day, it passes and I don't have these symptoms. Also in our apartment, and especially in the bedroom, my ears ring, which I have not had here before. I used to be able to completely relax in my bedroom, but now I always feel like I'm lying in an electric magnetic field.

 

I've only been living with the smart timer for 3 weeks and suffer from nausea, anxiety, depression and a minor headache. Before moving to the area of smart meters, I had none of these symptoms. Smart meters emit pulsed microwave radiation, which has been found to be harmful to health in many studies. I want to remove my smart meter but PG and E told me I have no choice. I will continue my protests until the meter is removed and the longer I have to wait the more I will talk about PG and Es violating my privacy, installing a device harmful to my health and refusing to remove it.

 

I was hoping that I would be able to "live" with a smart meter - after all, so many people seemingly have no influence on it. However, when I went to move the garbage cans (which are about 10 feet away), the first thing I noticed was a headache and a stiff neck, and a growing awful feeling that included nausea and dizziness.

 

As the days went by, I found it difficult to breathe well, as if I had a heavy chest and tightness in my chest. I also noticed that my heart beats differently. I panicked, wanted to run away, but there was nowhere to go. Nausea/dizziness remained low, with some confusion and balance problems, flu-like symptoms. There were headaches that came like a whip cutting deep into my brain.

 

So I wanted to try to describe what "intelligent counter-air" is like: the air is filled with a kind of buzzing, a very, very soft but nasty kind of shredding, a dissonant crushing. Alameda County.

 

A few years ago, I installed a smart meter in my home. I now wonder if the smart meter was the cause of my sudden chronic headaches and dizziness, which left me at about 25% fit to this day.

 

They installed our smart meter about 3 months ago and I have been very sick since the day it was installed. My husband, who never has a headache, is now 24 hours old. I am very sensitive to RF/EMF since 2005 when a neighbor installed 2 Sprint cell towers in the neighborhood and we were forced to sell and move. We're trying to move now, but you've put smart meters in every house that I might find useful. Why don't you have a radio sensitive backup plan? You have made my life hell and you don't even give me the option to reinstall my old meter even with Drs. a note saying how sick I am.

 

Smart Meter is destroying my dream. Since the Smart Meter was placed in my house, I couldn't sleep all night. The smart meter was installed just a meter from the headboard of our bed (on the outside wall of our bedroom). I was able to sleep all night before installing it. My husband has had intense sensitivity to electricity/electromagnetic fields for the last 10 years. This, of course, had a huge impact on our family. A few years ago he had to quit his job due to the working environment, and when the new cellular antennas and towers came out, we often worried about having to move. So far we have managed to stay in the Bay Area where we have lived all our lives.

 

I met the smart meter personally when PGE installed it at my neighbor's place 7 meters away, on May 7, 2010. I did not expect that from such a distance he would notice something from one gas meter. However, as the days went by, I felt worse and worse, with palpitations, irregular heartbeat, headaches, slight dizziness/weakness, emotional distress, restlessness, and inner agitation, especially when I was on this side of our house. When I went for a walk in the countryside, the headache subsided and I felt generally better, but the symptoms returned when I got home.

 

However, these radio broadcasts from smart meters are not limited to just once or twice a day, as they also transmit intermittently once or more per minute, 24/7, with slightly lower but still harmful transmission power densities. This is to synchronize the smart meters so that when it's time to transmit, such as at midnight in the Edison, Southern California service area, they work properly.
